PD2

Without enough Energy Units you will not be able to build any structures. Every structure requires a certain amount of Energy Units to function properly. When expanding your Island, you will soon use up the Energy Units you have build so far.

The table below gives an overview of the costs to produce Energy Units. There are three different types of Energy Unit production facilities: Windmills, Generators and Solar power plants. They all vary in size and costs, so depending on your Energy Unit needs and the available space on your Island you might want to make a well-advised choise which Energy Unit production facility to build.

Contrary to what might seem logical, the Windmill (Upgrade 1) is the most efficient facility available in the game. It will provide you with 40 Energy Units for only $ 850, a bargain! This renders the Generator and the Solar power plant useless, except for getting some Awards. If you are not convinced, imagine this: you can place 25 Windmills on the piece of land a Solar power plant needs. The Windmills have a combined production of 875 Energy Units as opposed to only 210 for the Solar power plant, so 4.17 times more. The costs for building these Windmills only amount to $ 18,750, but are $ 60,000 for the Solar power plant, so 3.2 times less. This makes the Windmill 13.33 times more cost-efficient!

Windmills and Generators with their smaller sizes can also fit in irregular spaces such as along the shore, but on the current build there is a limit of 6 Windmills and 5 Generators
