The Thanksgiving 2012 event works in much the same way as the Halloween 2012 event. There are four buildings you need to build to unlock the final fifth building. Once you have built this final building you have completed the Thanksgiving 2012 event.
Note: It is very important that you have your pier connected with the adminstrative building. Otherwise you will see no turkeys on your island.
Building order[]
1: Festive Diner
Collect 70

2: Turkey Restaurant
Collect 90 , 45 and 35 to build it.
3: Holiday Hotel
Collect 45 , 35 and 25 
to build it.
4: Thanksgiving Day Parade
Collect 60 , 50 and 40 to build it.
Once these four buildings have finished construction the final Thanksgiving building is unlocked.
5: Turkey Float
Collect 95 , 50 , 40 and 30 to build it.

Apple :
70 + 90 + 95 -> 255 for buildings
10 x 10 -> 100 for gifts ("Big-hearted"-Award)
Drop rate: 45% -> 789 zaps
Berry :
30 + 45 + 45 + 60 + 50 -> 230 for buildings
Drop rate: 25% -> 920 zaps
Orange :
25 + 35 + 35 + 50 + 40 -> 185 for buildings
Drop rate: 15% -> 1,234 zaps
Vine :
25 + 40 + 30 -> 95 for buildings
Drop rate: 5% -> 1,900 zaps
The total zaps needed will on average be 1,900 to get the 95 vines you need to build the Turkey Float. This will take you 5,700 minutes (95 hours). From these 1,900 zaps you will get all other resources too, even earlier.
Conclusion: You might start with 25 zaps, but without time cheating it is impossible to complete the Thanksgiving event within 96 hours if you want to have some sleep during these days. Getting the "Quickly to the Table!" award will require you to spend some € on resources (Vines of course), or you need to be super lucky with the Vine drops.
